He is focusing on the relationship between Antique Rhetoric and Literary Theory (such as Aristotle, Horace and Quintilian), and modern ways of bestowing legitimacy upon a text of any kind. Amidst his interests could be mentioned German Romanticism and Idealism (he has published a book on Immanuel Kant), Italian trecento literature and the relationship between modernism and the Classics.
